Happy First Anniversary To Me!!!!!

It’s a year already? How time flies…. I joined Sunda International in December 2011 for my national service (I think I was just lucky, though I wanted to be outside Accra), God had his plan. During my service, I worked hard (am not praising myself; that’s what it is). Frankly, I had never heard about such an organization until my service. I had used that stretch of road several times but never noticed.

During my service, I enjoyed the experience; the opportunity to learn was manifested. The movement from one department to another was an extra ordinary feeling. From the onset, I felt I was being stressed but as time went I realized it was a way of bringing the best out of me. This month September, I celebrate a year with this company and in December I’ll be 2years. (That’s because after my service in August, I was retained to work with them). I must say the experience with Sunda has unearthed quiet a number of things in me. My confidence level has risen; I could MC so well, I have built on my skills in marketing and research, etc. Indeed the experience has been phenomenal.

Sometimes we feel we aren’t able to do some things yet the people we come into contact with expect much more from us because they believe in us. In one of our corporate programs at Sunda, my HR needed someone to host the programs; she called me and told me she believes in me and knows I could do all of that for the company. She had confidence in me. From the onset I was quiet nervous but I took up the challenge and it paid off.

Right now my role of managing some distributors has been challenging, since I’ll have to train the sales team of the distributors and cope with them in order to attain results. You know its not easy dealing with humans, especially when you have to disagree to agree. Nonetheless, I have a very collaborative team and I thank God for their lives…..

I owe all of this to God Almighty for how far he has brought me, to my family, you guys rock! You’ve always been there. To my friends who have being like family; Super Daddy Alexander, Tordia Astus, my sisters; Adjwaah, Naa Adjeley, Sammy, and all the others I haven’t mentioned you know yourselves. Am so grateful and I appreciate the love and care. God bless you all..

As I spend my first anniversary with Sunda, I look forward to spending a lot more years and gaining a lot more experience from this great company!

"....she left again." WHAT DO WOMEN WANT?

“…..She left me again; we had a little problem in February, so she left. In June, she came to apologize and we got back. Last week I called her that we will be one year first week in September and the shocker came..hhhmmm She said she didn’t know she’s dating me. She said she’s not happy and leaving…the thing I have gone through eh? she said we should just be friends…yes she said am too good so we should be friends…I didn’t do anything, I asked her several times, she said I didn’t do anything wrong, I mean she said am a good person so now even though she’s leaving, she wants friendship with me…even her parents doesn’t understand her…oh everybody knew about us….I’m not much of a womanizer so I show her off papa, what’s even hurting me and making me bitter so why come back and beg me and leave me again? I’m very bitter…do you know the annoying part?...she’s always talking about God but does the opposite…I told her real Christians don’t behave like she does…I asked her if its because of the things I provide for was the reason why she came back to apologize because I just don’t get it. She will just leave when I’ve done nothing …look at the time wasted, the emotions and the investment. I think she has been unfair with me…I’m bitter I’m not perfect but I know I’m a good person, I’m now becoming a beast and more bitter. We were even staying together from September to December. If a guy gives you everything you want and he’s there whenever you need him, he doesn’t demand sex because you don’t want it, so what again does a girl want? I don’t pressure her for sex cos I know we’ll have more later. I get the chance to cheat, but I don’t cos I love her, am just hurt….sorry for telling you all this, I cry all the time but I guess I have to let it go, if people can just get up one day and leave their partners for no reason then its not fair, very unfair…I keep asking what I did wrong, she said I didn’t do anything. Sometimes I feel she’s under s spell, I feel somebody or her spirit doesn’t like her progress…really if a guy does everything and always there at your call, he's no womanizer, he loves and you just leave him without a reason? Life goes on, thanks for listening to my nonsense I just need to bring it out. Next relationship, not sure. Telling any girl I love her now will be all lies….”

The above is a conversation of a friend (name withheld) who was sharing his sentiments with me. Few days ago he shared this with me and I was touched. I felt his pain…to be in a relationship with a lady who left, came back again and finally leaving him in this bitter state.  I knew these two but I never ever thought such a thing could happen between them. Then I remembered what I’ve always been saying “Never Underestimate the Impossible”. Who knew that these two will ever be separated? I mean looking at how they could brag about each other. All I could do was to console him since he was hurt and bitter. Tho I haven’t heard the story from the other end, I’ve been wondering what will be the cause. Then it came to mind about a question most guys ask…”What do women really want?”

What exactly do women want?  (This is indeed a multi-million dollar question.)
We know we’re complex creatures and we operate on a different wavelength than men. The best example is our gender difference. Women aren’t exactly the great mystery that men often make us to be. I came up with some of the few things I think Women want. Tho it will differ from one to the other:

RESPECT, show us through your actions that you respect our opinions, careers, interests, friends, bodies and minds. You don’t have to agree with all that we say or do, but try to honor our opinions as valuable contributions. Follow the golden rule and treat us as you would like to be treated: Be honest, fair, kind and considerate.

Women want a man with a sense of humor. A woman will almost always love a man who can make her laugh. If you are dull, you are boring. If you make a woman laugh, you’re halfway home. Take the chance to be real, but be funny.

Women want a man who makes her feel like she’s the only one. Women go nuts over a man who will go the extra mile. For example, he opens the door for her; he walks on the right side of the street, helps her shop. I’m talking about being a GENTLEMAN! If she is cold, offer her your jacket. If she’s in trouble, protect her. If there is danger, put your arm around her. Be a real man.

Women want a man to be confident! Confidence is a number one quality women look for. Don’t be wimpy. Don’t apologize for everything. Be real. Be you.

Women want a man to listen to them and not necessarily give advice. Many women love to complain about their problems; however, they complain not to receive advice, but merely to sound off. I know its hard to not and be supportive, because you want to watch a football match or do something that to you may seem more exciting, but the fact is your woman will go to the ends of the earth to love you when you truly listen to them and acknowledge their needs.

Women want men to treat them like they are the sexiest women on the planet and that no other woman compares. Talking about ex-girlfriends is not going to score big points with the new woman. Treating her like she’s the ONLY one will make her smile for quite a while

Women LOVE a man with a plan. Women love men with ambition. Men who know who they are, what we’re doing tonight, and what we’re doing in our life. If you don’t have a plan, get one. I have a plan (a) and plan (b) ready at all times. They will judge your sense of confidence by how well you have though out where you will take her and what you will do together. So think ahead, have a plan then work that plan. While you’re at it make sure you have an alternative plan, too, in case she doesn’t like the first one
Women want generous men. Don’t be a tight-wad. Give the woman in your life gifts

Be a true friend. LISTEN TO HER. Let her share her good times and problems with you. Be there, rather than just promising to be there. Consistent committed positive action is a definition of love. How do you show you are a friend? Are you there when it matters most? Are you there for the small stuff, too?
These were some of the few things that I think women will want in a man, if you think of anymore; don’t hesitate to share in the comment below.

Much Love,
Lydy.
