GARDEN OF EDEN

“Garden of Eden” resonates with where Adam and Eve first met. This time around, it’s a Zoo.!  Surprised? Well don’t be. Over the weekend, on Saturday, 17th I toured at this Zoo, thank God for good friends.

Garden of Eden was established some 5 years ago, when Mr. Appiah the owner of the Zoo, lived in Israel for over 36 years. During his stay in Israel, he shared with me that the youngest person to have died then was a 102 years. I looked surprised and asked him what influenced that.  He said the secret was that they lived with animals and it is true when animals and plants cohabit with humans it made them live longer.

However when he returned home (Ghana), he was motivated and decided to set up a zoo, that was what gave birth to “Garden of Eden”. Most of the animals that inhabit in Garden of Eden are from Israel, Belgium, Egypt and others including some local breeds.

In the zoo, you will see the African Civet cats; which are nocturnal animals(animals that are active at night), Diana Monkeys, Fully nurtured baboons, Fun tail doves, Nile Crocodile, Cat fish, Mallard ducks(these ducks don’t mingle with the local breeds), snakes, porcupine, tortoise, and the list goes on and on.  Most of the animals feed on meat and roughages (vegetables and fruits). There are also different types of trees such as Cinnamon, Moringa, and coconut trees.  Garden of Eden has other facilities like internet, restaurant, and fresh fruit juices.

This private zoo if fully licensed, normally visited by vertinary officers who check on the animals.
