Happy Father's Day

Date checked, 15^th June, 2019. Oh snap tomorrow is 16^th June! That’s fathers day. I haven’t really seen much advertisements about this years fathers day I must say. If you have been following me you will know that I am a family person. I love family to bits and I am sure we all can say same for our families. I want to tell you about my dad, Mr Moses Adzimah. I have other amazing fathers who have played significant roles in my life. Oh and this time around, I will try to only talk about him without Perps(my mum), just for today lol. We call him “Old boy”, his friends call him “Mose” (Ewe name for Moses) and others who were growing up with us called his Kofi papa (Kofi’s father).

Growing up as the only girl of the family, Old boy taught me a lot of things and I also did learn and pick up a lot from him. He was my first love. You see that thing? I will try so hard not to be emotional in this post, I wont reach out for tissues, I promise!

Old boy has always been there for all of us. He is our provider, protector, and he brought us up in the love of God’s word and his love for us. He will ensure that you have the best of things (at least that is the role of a father, if your earthly father ensured this, how much more our heavenly father)

I picked my love for fufu from Oldboy , he made me build my love for country music, he taught me how to iron and make sure that those lines in the trousers are never doubled whatsoever, my dad will show me how to sweep the porch so clean he will pass his finger on the floor to ensure I have swept well and if it was ever dirty again he didn’t mind sweeping it like 20 times a day and I used to always get angry at that. Trust me that has helped me today. He and Perps taught me how to read the Ewe bible so fluently, I read the scriptures in church. Daddy also taught me how to wash a car, he will take me to school, he will dance with me on Saturday mornings to songs like “My Boy Lollipop”, songs from Dolly Partons and others. I always looked forward to that every Saturday.

Its amazing how age catches up so fast with our folks, one thing I will always remember him for is that he is a fighter. A few years back he had to battle cancer and I must say but for the Grace of God, Oldboy is still with us. He has had multiple treatments and he still is, all we can do is ask God for more grace. One day I am hoping and I know God will make him cancer free. I am not afraid to talk about all he has been through because his experience gives me hope that no matter what you are going through, God will be right there to hold you through. Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save nor His ear too dull to hear. (Isaiah 59:1) All these are indeed the manifestations of the Lord’s blessings. No matter what you are going through just take it to the Lord in prayer. On this note I will need to mention Perps who has been an extremely supportive pillar to him and all of us. Her words of encouragement are like ice to the fire. They keep us going.

On a day like this I want to appreciate the life of Moses and that of his sons, who happen to be my brothers Godwin and Worlanyo and of course Divine. They have grown and nurtured their families with love and the joy of the Lord and this is indeed emulating. I may have to set the bar higher. Lol

To father figures like Bishop Gideon Titi Ofei, my spiritual father, I always bless God for your life. To Mr Batse, my professional guider, My Godfather, the late Seth Loh, I know you are proud of me and you keep watching over me. Mr Ben Darku, Mr Kokroko, Dr Kyei, I love you and your family to bits! Thank you for everything.  Astus Ahiagble, my one and only Tordia, thank you for being there and scolding whenever I go wrong. DerryDean Dadzie, Charles Hansen-Quao, Claud Hutchful, Henry Sampson, Francis Ahene-Affoh, Kwaku Agyare, and to anyone I may have forgotten to mention, you all deserve some accolades! I appreciate you all and love you always.

Ramen 🍜 is a Japanese dish. It consists of Chinese-style wheat noodles served in a meat or (occasionally) fish-based broth, often flavored with soy sauce or miso, and uses toppings such as sliced pork, nori (dried seaweed), menma, and scallions. 

This was made by @chef_keeks who organized a pop up stand at the Aviation Social Centre in Accra.

3 Ways We Can Stick To A Customer Oriented Culture

Hi everyone, I hope your weekend is going very well? In this blog today I am going to share my opinion on the latest video that has gone viral which involves the police maltreating and beating up a woman who was supposed to make a withdrawal from a financial Institution. I am going to share my view from the angle of how we decide to treat our customers. 

As you all know, I am very passionate about customer experience and customer satisfaction. So this post is going to be in that regard. So the first thing that dawned on me was “..This woman is a customer of your service and you treat her like this? That means you can treat anyone like that…why would you beat up a woman just because she was either trying to stand for her right or withdraw from the bank for whatever purpose it was for….This is absurd! Who does this? Is this where we have gotten to as a country? 

A few questions poped on my mind. 

1. If this woman is your customer, why treat her like this?

2. Are we just preaching about customer orientation or it has to show in our actions?

3. If a customer came again in after banking hours after coming in so many times, shouldn’t we be considerate especially on a day that we have had network challenges earlier in the day?

4. Could there be other experiences that had not been caught on camera for other treatments?

5. How do we treat our customers when no one is watching?

6. How can we create a Customer Oriented Culture and stick by it?

Those were a few of the questions that went through my mind so I decided to share my view on this subject. For most companies, one of the values that we always ensure we stand by is advocating to create a culture that thrills our customers and focus on it. 

Here are a few ways we can ensure to Stick to our Customer Oriented culture in whatever field we find ourselves.

1. Trust your Team

The kind of people we hire to take positions in customer service is very important in thriving to meet our goals as a company. We need to hire people who are passionate about what they do and are able to adhere to the values of customer service to create an excellent experience. Everyone wants to take ownership of their job roles. Whatever it takes to make your customers happy, you need to go that extra mile to put that smile on their face. Let's do a wonderful work in assisting the team ensuring customer success to delight customers which will always make them keep coming.

2.Establish Clear Communication Lines

Once we decide to be a Customer Oriented Company, we need to make sure its easy for everyone to communicate and stay on the same page. If a customer reaches out and you have a challenge, find a way to communicate the issue to the customer. I have always tried to be very sincere with my customers because it makes the customer appreciate it that I am truthful and not taking him for granted. So if we have an issue which will be resolved in 24 hours, why should I tell the customer it will take an hour? I should be able to get back to him/her with an update. I am not been truthful in this case. Customers appreciate being communicated with. If you do not have the right answer for the customer, make sure your team can get the inquiry in the hands of someone who does, as quickly as possible.

3. Get Everyone Involved

As stated earlier, we have a value or goal to make our company or service a customer oriented one. Now everyone does a little bit of customer service, no matter what your job title is. Now, this is to get everyone involved and excited about how to deal with customers; who are the heart and soul of the company. Once everyone gets it clear that customers are the reason we have our jobs, we all participate in service to put that smile on their faces.

These are a few ways I think we can ensure that we stick to our Customer Oriented Culture, let's do our best as Customer Service personnel to delight our customers instead of making then upset with our service.

Never Underestimate Your Self Worth

Hello everyone, I hope you had a great weekend? Mine was fantastic! 

I had the opportunity to work with Dr Kwesi Botchwey on an upcoming project. I was delighted to coordinate the team and it all went well as planned. 

Most often I feel like we underestimate our abilities to make things happen and we are unable to give our best shot in order to strive to higher heights especially with our talents and skills.

It is important that we also allow ourselves to emanate our full potential. It is only then that we can realise what we are made of.
